What is a tbz2 file?

The tbz2 extension is functionally identical to .tbz and .tar.bz2, explicitly denoting a Tape Archive compressed with the second generation of the Bzip algorithm. It structures data using block-sorting compression based on the Burrows-Wheeler Transform.
