From a frustration to a full conversion platform.
The idea
Frustrated with overpriced, bloated file conversion tools that required installs, accounts, or subscriptions just to change a file format - the idea for RunConvert was born.
RunConvert V1 launches
First public release: a fast, free file converter supporting hundreds of formats across documents, images, audio, video, ebooks, fonts, archives, CAD, and vectors. Built for simplicity.
Expanding the toolbox
Added dedicated converters for OCR, CAD, vector graphics, fonts, and ebooks. Launched V2 with a redesigned UI, dark mode, responsive layout, and significantly faster processing.
V3 platform - REST API & webhooks
Complete rebuild with a documented REST API, a Jobs/Tasks model for tracking conversions, webhooks for event-driven workflows, and OnlyOffice alongside LibreOffice for document fidelity.
