How it works

Three steps to your converted file

Everything happens in your browser tab - upload, pick a format, download. The heavy lifting runs on our servers.

01

Upload your file

Drag and drop, click to browse, or paste a URL. Batches take up to 20 files at once - 230+ input formats across video, audio, image, document, and archive types.

02

Choose an output format

Pick from over a hundred output formats. Filter by category or search by name - every option is open to everyone, no account needed.

03

Convert & download

Hit Convert and grab your download link moments later. Originals are erased when the job completes; results are cleared within about an hour.

What is a PUB file?

The PUB file extension denotes a desktop publishing document created by Microsoft Publisher, a component of the Microsoft Office suite. This proprietary format utilizes the Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) structured storage container to manage page layout components, including vector graphics, raster images, formatted text, and separate objects. Unlike standard word processing documents, PUB files prioritize absolute positioning of page elements for print-ready output. The format lacks a public specification, making interoperability with non-Microsoft software limited to reverse-engineered implementations.

How to open a PUB file

Opening PUB files requires Microsoft Publisher on Windows systems for full fidelity. For users without access to the native application, LibreOffice Draw provides partial support through reverse-engineered filters, though layout inconsistencies may occur. While Microsoft Word cannot natively open PUB files, Adobe InDesign can import them via third-party plugins like Pub2ID. There is no native support for this format on macOS or Linux kernel-based operating systems without virtualization or conversion tools.
