What is an MRW file?

The MRW (Minolta Raw) format is a legacy proprietary raw image file type developed by Minolta (later Konica Minolta) for its DiMAGE series of digital cameras, such as the A1 and A2. It stores unprocessed data directly from the camera's Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) sensor, preserving higher dynamic range and color depth than JPEG compression allows.
