What is an FODT file?

Unlike the standard ODT format, which acts as a ZIP-compressed container holding multiple XML sub-files and assets, FODT stores the entire document structure-including text, layout styles, and Base64-encoded images-within a single, uncompressed XML file. This human-readable architecture facilitates version control integration (e.g., Git) and direct XML parsing without requiring decompression libraries.
How to open an FODT file
